About the Social Herd

Based in the Central West of New South Wales, The Social Herd is a small (person of one!) digital creative hub helping rural-based businesses across Australia with their marketing needs.

Whether you are wanting to attract new customers, drive sales, increase brand awareness, develop some creative content, or deep down, you just know that you need some sort of marketing help, The Social Herd can guide you. I can assist you with a number of digital and print marketing solutions at a price that won’t break the bank.

Marketing is not a one-size-fits-all approach and at The Social Herd that means understanding who you are as a business, your business goals, and how we can work together to build custom solutions to reach those targets.

Whether you’re a new business just starting out, or a large agricultural enterprise with years of experience looking to hit the refresh button on your marketing material, The Social Herd is here to help.

Who is the Social Herd?

My name is Alexandra MacAlpine, but I’m better known as Xan. I am the founder and sole operator behind The Social Herd, my own little creative hub I run from home.

It has been a dream of mine to develop my own operation that enables me to work with businesses that I feel are essential to this country we call home – those based in rural areas.

I live in the Central West of New South Wales with my husband Alex, who runs a mixed farm enterprise. Alex is often my inspiration and go-to guy behind how to market certain products to a farmer, and nearly every answer he gives me has a follow up ‘but why?’ question right behind it.

So how can I help your business?

Firstly, I am a one-stop shop. I have the ability to develop, create and design your marketing material from initial strategy all the way through to design and promotion – or in other words, end-to-end marketing. I am a photographer, videographer, designer, copywriter, strategy thinker and web/social media creator all wrapped up in one. I am dedicated to giving those based in rural towns the opportunity to grow their business.

If you are a business who already has a great photographer, or a talented web or graphic designer, then great! Bring me on board to collaborate and work together with other talented humans to achieve the marketing goals you want.

I have experience developing marketing collateral for a variety of small and large businesses in various fields including agriculture, horticulture, building and infrastructure, corporate, lifestyle and fashion.

The agricultural industry has always held a special spot in my heart – mainly because I for one am part of that industry and life, but also because it is an essential part of who we are as Australians and the produce we grow and sell. I love having the opportunity of working with farming families, stud operators, dairy farmers, crop farmers, horticulturalists, viticulturists, and every ag operator in between.

So, if you’d like to learn more about how we can work together to promote your rural-based business then contact me today and lets have a chat about who you are and want you want to achieve. Every prospective client receives a free initial review and consultation of their business and marketing objectives so what have you got to lose!

The Social Herd acknowledges the Wiradjuri people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live, gather and work, and pay my respects to their Elders past and present. I extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here as well.
