Grenfell Commodities

When I think of harvest, I think of my husband who sits at his desk plotting out what he will sow for the forth coming season. This is followed by the waiting and anticipation of the growing season. Constantly monitoring the crops until the contractor can be called to start the big harvest. I also think about our wedding anniversary which falls conveniently in the middle of harvest…but that’s for another time.

When Grenfell Commodities contacted me to discuss a refresh for their website, my knowledge of harvest was extended beyond the fields. A family-owned and operated business, Grenfell Commodities provides a bulk storage, bagging and handling facility. They provide customers with high-quality grain and bagged pellet products, as well as over 40,000 tonnes of grain storage capacity. They also provide logistics for said storage, carrying bulk grain and fertilizer throughout New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia.

Their website needed a revamp, because the business had grown in terms of their team of local employees, and services and storage facilities being providing. Did I mention they also had some insane new silo art to show off!

Grenfell Commodities’ website redevelopment was completed over a six month period. We hired a developer to build the website so that I could focus on the written content and imagery. Harvest was also quickly creeping up on the business which kept the team (and myself!) very busy. Part of the brief given to me by Grenfell Commodities was that they wanted the website to be very user-friendly, simple, clean and easy to navigate with a page dedicated to their wide range of bagged grains and pellets.

With harvest right around the corner, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to see Grenfell Commodities at their peak. It was the perfect time to capture some new content for their website and show their customers what they can do.

Once harvest was over and I had finalised the written content and imagery, Kate, our web developer was able to build the website. Using the platform WIX, we were able to create a website with a user-friendly back-end system. This meant the team at Grenfell Commodities would have no trouble updating the information on the website as required.

It is always a very satisfying moment having a scroll through a freshly curated website. It’s even better when you know you’ve created it for a rural-based business.
